Lincat is today announcing the appointment from 1 January 2010 of Alan Schroeder, currently its senior non-executive director, as non-executive chairman. Martin Craddock, who has held the position of executive chairman since the Group’s flotation in 1988, wishes to reduce his time commitment to the Group following 30 years of active involvement but will continue to serve on the board as a non-executive director.
Alan, who also chairs a number of private companies, paid tribute to Martin’s long and valuable contribution to the Group:
“I am both delighted and honoured to be taking over the chairmanship from Martin, with whom I have served on the Lincat board for the past 21 years. Together with his father John in the early years, Martin founded the Group, led its move to the stock market and drove its strategy of strong organic growth combined with well considered acquisitions. That strategy has delivered exceptional products to the Group’s customers, secure and well remunerated jobs to its employees and attractive results to its shareholders, for which Martin deserves our heartfelt appreciation.
I am particularly pleased that Martin will continue to serve on the board, where his wisdom, experience and depth of knowledge of our industry are highly valued.
